What does this option do...?

One thing XnView is missing is some info on options...
What does "After Save as change filename" do??? I thought it does auto-rename when using Save as, but it's not the case.

And "No thumbnail in folder tab"?
And "Dual monitor, Use second monitor (Browser only)"? What does this 'Browser only' mean?
And "only one strip" in TIFF write options?
"Create new Name template when opening dialog"?

Hello !
What does "After Save as change filename" do???
- This changes the name in the title-bar for the name + the new extension. However, the info in the status-bar is not refreshed, and the non-converted pic seems displayed still… It was a "bug" in the 1.74, but I guess that some users liked that behaviour (myself, for instance).
And "No thumbnail in folder tab"?
- First, might be rather "File-tab".
• When you have a tab for a file, you can display a mini thumb-nail showing the pic of that file in the tab… Currently, buggy for me - shows always the same mini thumbnail for all pics -the one of the first displayed pic…
And "Dual monitor, Use second monitor (Browser only)"? What does this 'Browser only' mean?
- It seems clear : that might work in Browser-mode only, not in "View" mode; I've not a double-monitor, sorry, I can't tell more about this…

Xyzzy et al,
The options of XnView are a strong point which make XnView flexible. The poor bit is that it's not documented very well. A while back I've started to write up some help pages for options in German, but they were just a start and I've never finished these. If you want tem, let me know.
Are you about writing something up or do you want to know for yourself?

I translate now for 1.80. I need to know exact meaning to provide good translation.
As for options, I think that they should be just move descriptive, fe.:
"No mini-thumbnail in window tab header" instead of
"No thumbnail in folder tab"
or
"After "Save as" change filename in title bar" instead of
"After "Save as"change filename" etc.

I agree. Some options are just not clear. Reading these boards helps me learn what some of them mean.
