how NOT to show embedded thumbnails in Browser

Hi all. I am hoping someone can help me. :)

I have a folder of many JPG images of which a small number are severely corrupted. When I Preview these images, the corruption is obvious (e.g. bottom half missing). However, the tiny pictures in the Browser look perfect (do not show the corruption), presumably because it is displaying embedded thumbnails. Is there any way to force the Browser to display tiny renditions of the corrupted images?

Without success, I have played extensively with settings under Options >> Browser >> Thumbnails.

Thank you in advance for any advice!

Use Embedded thumbnail option should disable the embedded thumbnails and if you have thumbnails cache enabled, you should disable it also in Options >> Browser >> Thumbnails >> Cache >> Enable Caching or you could just rebuild the thumbnails.

Thank you for responding, but I've already tried all of those things. It must be a bug (defect) in XnView.

Do you have rebuilt thumbnails?
