Hi all,
I'm using XnView for a long time and for some .ico files (icon) i get different (lower or higher) resolution when compared to Windows Explorer and Windows Photo and Fax Viewer.

An example:
For example, i have an icon (i certainyl would attach it here but there's no chance for the attachments here, and i cannot upload .ico to free image hosting websites), XnView says it's 48x48, but Windows Explorer and Windows Photo and Fax Viewer says it's 16x16.

There are much icons that are reported with different resolutions.

Why is that? Which one is true? Is this a bug?

There are free file sharing services like Wikisend, but registered member of the forum should be able to upload any type of file as a ZIP-compressed archive (maximum attachment size: 2 MB).

I figured out this a bit late. There are approx. 6-9 frames per icon, and that's why XnView would start at 48x48.

Hmm kimi,

do you think that there should exist an option to choose whether the highest or lowest icon page is first displayed?

Perhaps a setting named 'Display lowest icon page first'

Highest icon page first suits Windows .ico that contain the Vista/7 256x256 sized page and the current 'highest page first' just showcases that to the user.
