The image is shifted when pasting from clipboard

Dear XnView community,

I am observing the strange behaviour with XnView. When I select the image region and then copy + paste it, the image is shifted to the right.

Test image: test.tif

Step1: Select the part of the image and press Ctrl+C:
Image

Step2: Press Ctrl+V (the image fragment is inserted with shift):
Image

Step3: When inserted into Photoshop, the image is "interlaced":

P.S. Is there any possibility to insert the image at given X/Y position without changed X/Y ratio and/or scale? Also I was not able to find the option, that allowed me to paste the image without breaking X/Y ratio. The following options is enabled: Tools → Options → General → Operations → Adjust zoom if X/Y DPI is different.
P.S. It is pity I can't attach images to forum posts. I think some reasonable size should be allowed.

I was just investigating this. First with 1.98b4. In that version, any b&w images shifted to the right. It also affected greyscale & 8bit color images, but in different ways. Greyscale ones shifted to the left & 8bit color both shifted & turned nearly black.

After that, I downloaded 1.98.2 & tried again. B&W and 8bit color pics no longer have the problem, BUT greyscale ones have a new problem; The pasted portion is considerably darker than the original. When you use a high number of greys (such as 256) the difference is slight, but the difference becomes more & more noticable the fewer shades of grey you use. (Dithering or no dithering makes no diff.)
This can betested by taking any truecolor image, converting it to greyscale, then selecting a section & hitting ctrl+c then ctrl+v.

v1.98.2 works very well. However the problem when pasting the image from clipboard to Photoshop is there, but I believe that is Photoshop problem, as paste to mspaint & Gimp works just fine.
