sorry if this is an old topic, but i looked and searched for instructions on how to make an icon, and there are many threads, like icon transparency, etc. but i couldn't find the very basic - how to make an icon using xnview.

can anyone tell me where to look for instructions ?

The reason there's no instructions on how to make an icon is because there's nothing to it. Open a pic, crop/resize/whatever (keeping in mind that icons should be square), then file->save as->ICO
