1.97: Can't move pasted image like MS Paint!

Hi all,
I dunno whether it's because of my old version of XnView which is 1.97.8, i'm very nervous that i CAN'T move the pasted image from clipboard onto new image.

Let's assume you have an image, open it using XnView, and then print screen another image to copy clipboad, then paste it onto previous image which was already opened in XnView, the image is pasted on existing image but there's NO control to move it like MS Paint! It's aligned to the top-left of existing image with no move opportunity after paste!

I'm really surprised to see such a handy feature missing.

Why? Has it been fixed?

Thanks a lot!

There is a bit of a workaround for that. If you make a selection on the current image & then paste, the clipboard will get pasted into that selection. With that in mind, if you know where you want your image pasted, you can select that area first & then paste.

There is a caveat though; The pasted image will be forced to exactly match the size & shape of the selection. cuasing it to get resized & even distorted if the selection doesn't match up properly.
If you know the exact dimensions of the image you want to paste though, it's pretty easy to get around this issue. Just click edit->set selection size->custom size, and you can set it to whatever precise dimensions you want. You can also set the selection's position from here, but that isn't needed, since you can just drag the selection box around once you create it.

From my point of view, pasting an image and moving it around for fine-positioning is a standard use case. Would be good if XnView would support it - either in XnView itself and/or in the Paint tool.
