XnView Software

In explorer there is one contect menu item named "Refresh thumbnail". This applys to the current selected file only and is quite useful.
Something like that would be great in MP also: To be able to select a file and select "force thumbnailing" and MP creates a the thumbnail for this file at once.

Why? XnView must update the thumbnail if file has changed...

I support this request. Sometimes MP fails to refresh the thumbnail. This is particularly an issue with folder thumbs when the orientations of the images shown in the folder thumb have recently changed.

Rebuilding means that the existing thumbnail database will be dropped and thumbnailing starts from the scratch.
This is a waste of resources whan there are only few files that needs to be re-thumbnailed.
Force thumbnail should only rebuild thumbnails on selected files and not rebuild entire database.

I have it. But pressing "rebuild thumbnails" removes all existing thumbnails and thumbnailing starts at 0%. It is rebuilding them from the scratch.

We need function "Rebuild selected thumbs"

Hi,

I’m using v0.60 and still have the problem that the thumbnails don’t refresh after editing a file. They only appear correctly after copying the edited file.
Example:
"img1.jpg" gets edited and saved: wrong thumbnail.
I create "img1 copy.jpg": the copied jpg has the correct thumbnail.

Is there anything I have to change in the settings or is it a bug?

You edit image in XnViewMP?

Remember to check "Create from original image if embedded thumbnail is smaller than thumbnail size".
Settings [F12] / Browser / Thumbnail / Misc.

If unchecked selected thumbnails will not rebuild.
Why is this setting not selected by default?
