jpg quality issues

Hi,

I have a problem with the quality of jpg images. It seems to be very bad when I save a jpg in xnview.
I am pretty sure it is a setting somewhere because I did not have this issue on my previous PC.
I remember having read somewhere about a similar problem that was caused by some algorythm setting or something. Anyone any ideas?
What could be the problem?

Do you have checked option/Read-write/Write/Jpeg > Quality?

Set the subsampling factor to 1x1,1x1,1x1.

thank you for your answers, unfortunately now the file size is very big.
I don't understand what is happening, I never had any problems before.

Setting subsampling to 1x1,1x1,1x1 and the quality slider to 90 will give a very high quality image, at a small size (around 20k for that particular pic).

These are the exact settings I used:

You can use the export dialog (ctrl+alt+s, or file->export) to play around & see what settings work best. Once you find the best settings, you can go into the options & use those same settings for when you save or save-as.

thanks for your response, i will try it.
It is still weird why all of the sudden everything seems to be different, i know for a fact that i did not change any settings before the problem started and i have never experienced anything like this before with xnview.
I have been using the program for years
