Hi,

a few questions,
I use XnView for work, I let my clients take pictures with my camera.When the party is over, I build their webpage with the pics on camera, and upload to my server.

1) I'd like to know if there's a way to add username and password log in to view their pics. Each party I have to tell them verbally over the phone where their page is, and I would like them to be able to login at their picture from the homepage.
Scenerio:
go to my home page, click on your thumbnail, that directs you to a login page... login, look at all the pics from your party, but not everyone else's parties.

2) how do I change their output page to something a little bit more simple? I use their name as the primary folder, then create the webpage, and XnView turns it into server.com/name/thumb.html ... again, there's difficulty getting people to understand that they've got to add "/thumb.html" (you'd never believe the people that ask about the "thumb" portion)... and I tell them it's for their thumbnail page.

3) How do I embed Goggle Calendar into one of their pages? I can get the source code, but not sure where to add it.

I've used XnView for a long time, and I know I only use a small portion of it's potential... but these are just some things I need to work with.
I can have their webpage built and online in a very few amount of clicks, and that's what I need.... I'm dealing with 150 to 500 pics from each party and it works great for that.
If an admin wants to see my webpage and try to figure out just what the heck I'm talking about.... pm me and I'll give you the link.

1) Password protection is done on the server end, there's nothing xnview can do for that.

2) After you use xnview to create the page, rename the resulting file from "thumb.html" to "index.html" (this can be done either before or after uploading to your server). If you then go to "server.com/name/", that will load the index.html file by default.

3) To add something like google calendar, go into xnview's program folder->webtemplate->[specific template]. For the sake of this discussion I'm going to use the "simple" template, but if you use a different one for your page, just go to the directory for that one instead.
If you want to put the calendar on the main/thumbnail page, edit "thumb.html". If you want it on the individual image pages, edit "page.html" instead.
Exactly where to put it depends on both the template you're using & your own preference. On the "simple" template, your best bet would be either between the </table> and </div> tags or between the </div> and </body> tags. Just try it in one place, make a test page & see how it looks.

I read it a few days ago, and applied the advise to a page today....

I created the webpage, came up with the usual 4 files.
1) NAV
2) ORIGINAL
3) THUMB
4) INDEX.HTML

I mis-read, and renamed the FOLDER from THUMB to INDEX, and uploaded it.... didn't work

used FTP and renamed it back to THUMB, then renamed the FILE from THUMB.HTML to INDEX.HTML (like you said in the first place!)DOH

Worked!!!!!!!
