I'm missing the 'close application by pressing esc' functionality that is configurable in xnview.

I like suggest to add this via additional command (cmd_exit, cmd_minimize, ..) in settings-interface-shortcuts


And while I'm on it: I think it would be more systematic to integrate the general-keyboard/mouse settings with cmd_exit, cmd_minimize too.

I think this is not needed. I recommend the HotkeyP, small free app with many useful features, including a boss key for any program. It is possible to close or hide any program completely (including a taskbar item).

an integrated solution would work on any OS XnViewMP supports
