This suggestion is inspired by topic Image Print size in cm.

From what I can see, there are currently various spots where inch/cm is displayed or can be chosen:
- Options, Category "View". Setting: Display units: pixels / cm / inch
- Options, Category "Browser > File list". Setting: Use inch for print size (instead of cm).
- File > Print: Tab "Layout": Units: cm / inch
- Image > Resize: Print size: Inch/cm/dots/%

There might be more....

Sometimes it's good to have both the inch and the metric value displayed. But a general setting inch/cm for the usage within XnView would be good and could help to simplify things. E.g. dpi (dots per inch) is known and important (even in Europe) whereas dots per cm is not known much and might be even useless for users located in the U.S..

Yes, General > Operations is a prominent place. Alternatively, category "Interface" might be a good place.

This is long overdue.

I'd like to request that print sizes in cm be made available as variables for fullscreen info, thumbnail labels & tooltips, as well as contact sheets and web pages.

I think some changes applied since the last post in this topic. In the settings I only see one entry related to Inch / cm preference (It's in General > General, "Use Inch for print size".
However, in the Image Resize dialog the default option is still Inch. It's just painful to have to change it each time you re-enter the dialog in the next session. Confirmed with v 2.49.2 (Dec 2019)

Can this be linked to the "common setting mentionned above?
