In browser and image windows, I can use the File Menu's "Acquire" to fetch images from my digital camera, BUT... the "Import Clipboard" menu item is only available when no browser or image window is open. Why is that?

Here's a question, Why was shift+ctrl+v chosen as the shortcut for pasting a new image? Just ctrl+v is the standard shortcut for pasting as a new image in nearly all other progs, then posting within the current image has many varying shortcuts depending on the prog in question.

You can use "Import clipboard" in both browser and image view. In image view, Ctrl+V is used for paste to selection, and in browser Ctrl+V is used for pasting images, already. This is why another shortcut was used.
