This is the greatest program ...
but if I may make two small humble suggestions ...
maybe consider in the back of your mind a new option for "View>Preview" and for "Options>AutoImageSize" ...
"Fit image to [window|desktop], *small only (large images shown 1:1, without fitting)"
and another option,
"Set center of image (focal area) to center of the [window|desktop], rather than usual matching of UL corner to UL corner."
The thought process involved in both suggestions is the same. During projection of slideshows, small images can be shown to "fill the screen" and large images will have the usual "overhang" trimmed off. By showing large images at 1:1, the center of the photograph will receive intended focus. That is that, most family photographers (and many professional ones as well) include in their 1:1.5 photographs an unintended "periphery" to their intended subject. Yes, these fringe annoyances are best edited out individually. But, why not let Xnview do a good approximation of that, during preview slide shows? This option would provide for that.
Just a passing thought. In any case, thanks again for a great program. Wow!!
