XnView Software

XnView is a excellent tool which I use every day, but there is something I missed: Duplicate video finder.
I often have many duplicate videos from my Carcam as AVI, MP4, MPG, FLV which have different resolutions and compression, which must be removed.
How it could work?
Split the Video to a total of 100 frames (or take one frame per second) and resize them to 8x8 pixel and save these values as RGBG (Red, Green, Blue, Grey), removing all Frames which have very similar colours over all pixels, this will take 256 Bytes per frame. Then compare the sequences with sequences of other selected videos using fuzzy filter. Most similar Videos (filter) will be then displayed.

Yes, I'm the author of Retro-X but currently the development is freezed (because a guy named Joger Jowett spamed and pested me over and over again, and because I gave some other projects higher priority: a Cross-Compiler IDE and some new games on ZX Spectrum). I want to continue later.
The latest version of XnView I have, still has problems with some HAM4 iff pics (As reported years ago), that are displayed correctly on Amiga 500, but not fully okay in XnView. The MLT (Multitech) pictures are not decodable yet, but they are rarely used. Atari XL (Pic) files and MSX2 Mode 8 (sr8) are not readable yet, but thats not fully tested yet on Retro-X. If I find more problems with retro formats, I will inform you.

This is a specialized duplicate video finder program, that automatically detects all video duplicates, including both exact and converted copies (various formats, resolutions, bitrates, etc.).

This may be what I want. Will check the demo.

Yeap. Try asking them for a discount. I heared some people got this, by reffering to forum discussions or providing suggestions.

BTW, they changed name to duplicatevideosearch.com and released a new version recently. I've already upgraded.
