Disable sort thumnails

Hello,
When I view my thumbnails, is it possible to disable the function that automatically sorts images ? I would like to manually change the order of photos and then rename them. But when i try to move thumbnails, XnView autmatically creates a copy of the selected thumbnail an sorts it with the others according to the sorting option in the menu "sort".
