Not sure whether this is meant to be a feature or a bug:

- Folder renaming
When double-clicking on a selected folder in the folder tree, the folder's subfolders are not displayed. Instead, the folder can be renamed ("Renaming mode").

- File renaming
When clicking on a file that was previously selected in the file list, the file can be renamed ("Renaming mode"). As a consequence When double-clicking too slowly, you will end up in rename mode rather than open the image.

Not sure what other users expect, here. I'd prefer if double click on a selected folder would open the subfolders. And (single) clicking on a selected file should simply do nothing. At least, that's the behaviour of XnView Classic.

The 'File renaming: Slow single-click' should be kept as this is the standard file renaming clicking behaviour feature that can be found in Windows Explorer and most if not all Win32 file-manager apps.

Hmmm, but to echo XnView Classic behaviour perhaps Pierre could add a tickbox option named like 'File renaming: Slow single-click' and put the tickbox option in Settings>General>File operations

....If added as an option then I still think (my honest opinion) that this feature should be enabled by default.

Right. I've just double-checked the double-click behaviour on Windows XP and it's the same as in XnView MP. Perhaps just my problem and in combination with the setting "Select first item when entering folder". On the thumbnails I find it hard to see whether it's checked or not, so I have the habit to just click in on the thumbnail, with sometimes the result that renaming mode is started rather than opening the image. But for now let's keep the file renaming the way it is now. No need for an option.

Instead of adding an option in XnView MP I'd rather see XnView Classic behaviour changed, here. And if more people find the behaviour cumbersome ore even wrong, we could add an option in both XnView Classic and XnView MP.
