Viewer orders next/prev files same as Browser's 'sort' order

Hi,
In latest XnViewMP 0.51, I have noticed that when I next/prev on picture file (in "View") that is in a folder of other picture files....When viewing in "View" it just follows the same file list sort order as the "Browser"....
Example; if I sort by 'modified' my folder of picture files, then the "View" would just follow this same sort order
So I would like the "View" just to use the default sort order of sorting by 'filename' which would be independent of whatever I have set in the "Browser"....Otherwise a separate setting option could exist to control this.

It's done that in regular XnView forever, if that wasn't the case in older MP then it was an inconsistency that was corrected. Having two separate sort orders would be a feature request since it needs UI to handle it.

Thank you for correcting me foxyshadis. I never knew this was an all-time legacy feature, so in that case....
I am now making this a feature request to add an option (or ini edit) for this

ok perhaps a combobox could be added in
Settings>view>Misc
Like this

- Clipboard 1 --xn sorting view mode.png (22.13 KiB) Viewed 2154 times
These would be the choices for this requested combobox:
- Default (same as Browser)
- Name
- Size
- Type
- Modified date
- Created date
- EXIF date
- Print size

A very long time ago we had two sort orders in XnView Classic, one sort order for browser mode and one for the navigation in image view mode. This caused a lot of confusion and I'd be VERY hesitant to introduce two sort modes, again. What would be the benefit?
I'd consider the differing sort orders in XnView 0.56 as a bug.

Why would you think that?
Look at my mock-screenshot and you will see that the combobox says "Default (same as Browser)" <----- so if left like this and untouched by user then there would never be any "confusion" problem

For me I treat the Browser as a file explorer and always have the Browser sorted by Modified Date, however when I double-click to open an image (from Windows) into XnViewMP I just want to view the image file and all the other director's images in a standard sort of sort by NAME and not what I am using in Browser
---------------------------------------
I still prefer to have a separate sort order for View mode and the combobox setting I made in that mock-screenshot is perfect for this.
This is not an urgent request so more discussion on this from other users is welcome

What I meant in my previous post: As long as we don't have such a setting the sort order in view mode should match exactly the sort order of browser mode. If it differs, I'd consider this is a bug.
Sure enough your mock-up and description is correct and good, but would be an enhancement for both XnView Classic and XnView MP.

Maybe an Ini Tweak could be added for this feature before adding any GUI changes
