Animated thumbnail on mouse over

Hi
  • example:
-Lightroom 4 will animate movie on mouse over back and forth but it is slow as it possibly generates frames for most of the movie (not sure how this works).
-iPhoto - like how it shows you series of random images from a gallery on mouse over.
So, instead of 4 tiny images for a movie thumbnail it would be nice to add sort of animated gif like thumbnail for movies and gif images.
Also, option to generate only certain number of images for a movie (not the whole thing)... like 10 random images from the beginning to the end.

Thumbnails would show as a single image until you pass over with a mouse then they would animate beginning to end and and maybe change direction if mouse is going the opposite way.

It would be nice to have it on both xnView and xnViewMP.
I went back to xnView as I could not drag and drop files in xnViewMP tree.

Cheers

Yes not bad idea for Live Video Thumbnails but what about the affect on a user's system memory (users with slower systems)...

...Still my Samsung Galaxy S3 (quad-core Android phone) has this feature :)
(plays a small segment of video in a playback loop within a thumbnail)
