Send RAW files to GIMP?

Hello,
I apologize if this has been covered already. I did some searching and didn't find it.
When you have a RAW file open in XnView, are you able to send it to an external editor like GIMP?
I've played with UFRaw on my Win 7 machine but it keeps crashing and messing up the colors so I'm still looking for a way to open RAW files in GIMP.
Thanks.

I was going to suggest that to him earlier, but after some testing, it appears that "open with" just launches the file from disc in the other program, whereas hansenator wants/needs xnview to export the file in it's current/active state.
I ran a test by creating a "raw" file from within xnview, then using "open with" to open it in gimp. Gimp was unable to open the file. (Then again, it might be that xnview didn't save it properly, since even xnview only displays it as a scrambled image. I get that with every "raw" image I save from xnview, I'm just glad that I don't normally use raw images for anything.)

That is correct, I'm trying to import it to Gimp. Open With will send it to GIMP but not in a format that will work. RawTherapee has a single click interface that seems to work well with GIMP but I was hoping there is a way to do that with XnView without having to relay on UFRaw since the Windows version seem to be problematic.

I have not, I'll have to try.
It may not be necessary though because I just got Lightroom for my birthday. I was hoping to use XnView to browse and organize my photos and, from there, open them in GIMP for further editing so I think the ability to export RAW files to an external editor would be a great feature.

Copy and paste does indeed work. It's fairly convenient too as it only takes a couple of keystrokes and mouse clicks.
