Browser/thumbnail crashing at 1.7GB RAM use-1.99.5 and prior

In XnView Browser, I use large thumbnails (768x576), with High Quality disabled, Sharpen Thumbnail disabled, and Use Embedded Thumbnail disabled. When I browse to a folder containing 1000-3000 JPG files, they will start loading up, but as soon as the xnview.exe (32-bit) process reaches ~1.7GB of memory utilization, it crashes.
I believe this is a problem with certain 32-bit processes. Firefox, which is still a 32-bit program, used to crash at the 1.7GB memory mark as well, but when I upgraded from the 32-bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate to the 64-bit version, Firefox can use more than 1.7GB of RAM without crashing. However, XnView still crashes at the 1.7GB limit.
It would be nice if this limitation is fixed. Thank you.
