Solved: File wouldn't display in thumbnails.

Not sure if this would be considered a bug or not, but in any case, I thought I'd share it.
This afternoon, I was surfing the web, and saw an image on a page that I wanted to save.
I right-clicked on the image, chose Save Image, then navigated to the destination folder,
which is my XnView startup folder. The image had a .jpg file extension.
Interestingly, the image failed to be displayed in thumbnails by XnView. I thought I'd placed
it in the wrong folder, but that wasn't the case. I restarted XnView, with the same result.
the image simply failed to display.
The first thing that came to mind was that "Ignore read errors" perhaps wasn't checked.
It was.
The file displayed just fine if I double-clicked it and opened it in the viewer. It also displayed
okay in Windows Explorer in Thumbnail View.
After much futzing, I finally broke out the hex editor and opened the file. Aha! It looked
to me that it actually had a header for a .png file, not a .jpg.
I changed the file extension. Problem solved.
Enjoy the day.
