XnConvert shows the image automatically rotated

Hi,
I have a lot of pictures organized in several folders.
When I load them in XNConvert, some of them the program shows as they are, as shown in windows explorer, some of them it shows as rotated by +90 degree. This causes errors when I apply some actions, like cropping, because it is not possible to calculate the pixels that should be cropped.
I have observed that for all of these images, there is a rotation arrow sign in the thumbnail, whereas for the others which are displayed normally there is not.
Please advice why some images are rotated automatically by the program.
