XnVideo (like Zoom Player)

- Can run as stand alone video player
- Can run inside XnView (View mode window)
- Format support limited only by the codecs and filters installed in Windows
- Lite version for XnView and Pro version for XnView Deluxe

XnAudio (like foobar2000)

- Can run as stand alone audio player
- Can run inside XnView (View mode window)
- Format support limited only by the codecs and filters installed in Windows
- Lite version for XnView and Pro version for XnView Deluxe

This would mean removing the current audio and video player code from XnView and allowing XnView to call these components.

Great idea ckit. I don't use XnView for media files at all so I could easily just remove the video / audio components.

XnView is the best image viewer, but not so good media player. So stand alone components could also improve media player functionality.

Both XnVideo and XnAudio should use MediaInfoLib DLL (opensource) available here - http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/ to provide info for media files.
