No GPS on photo

I just received a photo from someone's iphone 4 and I am not able to see the time and location of the photo under EXIF properties as I have been able to in the past with other photos I have received from them. I also noticed that under my photo album of pictures this picture has an EXIF sign at the bottom of it but no GPS sign. What would cause me to suddenly not be able to see these properties on this newest photo?
