Only if you have non white background colour for window in Windows Display properties...

Solution #1 (easier):

Override Windows background colour setting - always use white colour as background - only if shadow is used in xnview.

Solution #2 (maybe even impossible):

Make white colour under shadow transparent.

I think this is more of a "feature" than a bug without a white background the thumbnail shadow is useless really. This can only be fixed by altering the colour of the shadow as well as the background colour.

And is it possible to fix/change it (solution #1 or #2 above) ?

#2, Always use white when shadow is enabled?

It's "solution #1":

I mean "Override Windows background colour setting" here:

Display properties > appearance > advanced > item > window - color 1
(I use "RGB 224 224 224" colour here because I don't like white colour in all windows in Windows, e.g. in notepad)

"Always use white background when shadow is enabled" - I mean this option in xnview:

Options > browser > thumbnail > Use Shadow
