0.53: Search as you type

This issue was present in the previous versions as well. For certain letters search as you type does not work. In my case it does not accept letter "M".
For example: If there is a file "America.jpg" and a file "Alaska.jpg". I can type first letter "A" and the first file with A as first letter gets selected. If I type "Am" again only the first file with "A" as first name gets selected and it is not "America.jpg" as it should be. If I type "Al" the correctly the file "Alaska.jpg" gets selected.
Same for file "Maryland.jpg". If I simply press "M" to get to the first file with M as first letter, nothing happends. On the contrary when I press "K" it brings me directly to my first file "Kentucky.jpg" as it should.
So for some reason it does not correctly detect when I press "M" (maybe other letters with other installations).

This is weird. I tested with xnview v 1.98 and this issue is not present.
It is only concerning letter "M". All other letter work for search as you type as expected.

Bonjour,

Avec version 0.51 :
soulky wrote:This issue was present in the previous versions as well.
Pas de problème. Peu importe la lettre ou la case :!:
Test :

Bonne année

Hello,

With version 0.51:

[quote = "soulky"] This issue was present in the previous versions as well. [/ quote]
No problem. Regardless of the letter or box:!:
test:
M *, m *, M *, m *, and also for the other letters and letter combinations

Simple question: The "M" button would do it no shortcuts in your version and MP would "maybe" be influenced by this choice?: (I do not see anything else that could affect only this key:? )

happy New Year

As I have tested it with xnview 1.98 and this version did not show this issue, xnviewmp should not show this issue as well.

Hello,

You can talk to the "Quick search"!

If this is the case, you must take this into account and set it up to avoid confusion (XnViewMP!).

Here are some findings (to check for accuracy) must be taken into account when using the "Quick Search" and its settings:

- The fast search takes into account by adding checkmarks. So, "Go (or as well) and in the IPTC fields or embedded comment". Can be a problem for English / French translation. If this is not the case, the word "also" should be added to avoid confusion!
- Fast search ignores uppercase / lowercase! Is this correct:?:

- The quick search does not take into account the place of the letter or letter combination! Is this correct:?:
- Small bug. The number of item (s) in the status bar changes only when you select a file after using the Quick! Is this correct:?:

Suggestions (tests I made myself with MP 0.39 and 0.51):
If your problem is not a solution and to avoid any confusion since nobody else seems to have the same problem!
- Make at least one test with the module "Search" view image "Recherche_Case.jpg."contained in the previous intervention. This would immediately eliminate a hardware problem (keyboard) or software (installed xnview, keyboard or other)
If no problem:
- Create a new folder with files with no comments IPTC and whose names contain a small number m, M and associations, my sea, Monument, etc. By doing like this, regardless of the options selected or not, only the "file names" will be taken into account in the quick search!

If still a problem, then :? :? :? Long live the computer but I am incompetent

Good luck and @+

Bonjour,

(voir seconde image ci-dessus)

:? :? Vive l'informatique mais j'y suis incompétent

Bon courage et @+
