freeze on first "next file" execution inside samba folder

If i open a jpg file from a samba network (something like \\server\folder\photo\test.jpg) and then press next/previous file button, then xnview freezes for 15-20 seconds (which is kinda annoying).
After first execution no freezes at all until I won't launch another copy of process.
Looks like the bug depends on this one, because procmon says that xnview reading a CR2 file (which is not the next file!). I can attach a procmon log if you want
