Delete doesn't work in search results

Here is my usage. I have 36MP RAW files. They're slow. I also shoot small JPG, which are 10MP.
So I put them in the same folder, RAW is companion file to JPG.
As I review the files, I want to:
* search for *.jpg, display
* view each file fullscreen
* press DEL for 'fail' files
* JPG and RAW both get deleted due to companion file setting
Once done, then I can move the JPG out and process the RAW.
I need to view the JPG because:
* memory leak, xnview gets tired http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=22665
* 36MP files are slow in general anyway
