Is it possible to script XnView so that it will open and print an image and then close.

For all I know, this is not possible in XnView 1.66. There's a number of command line options available which you can view by starting XnView and selecting "Info->Command line Help". But you cannot print using a command line option and you cannot exit right after an action, either.
For scripting, there is also Nconvert, but I cannot see an option for printing an image.

The idea behind "print and exit" is to make a menu item in Explorer (or other file manager) called "Print", like text files and other formats also have. I personally don't use it, but some people do. Other utility is to use in scripts.

If there is no way of doing that now, I think it could be implemented. That should not be too difficult.
