Let's say that you have 4000 files.
0. Backup your files somewhere else.
0,1. Hunt: Take 10 from your most 'odd' files and put them in a separate folder. Do the search with exactly the same 'conditions' WRT Width/Height of image etc. It crashes?
If yes, report back. If no, read on.
1. Remove any 'conditions' about height/width (etc.) from you search. Does it work?
2. Make two subfolders: f1 with 2000 and f2 with the other 2000 files. Do exactly the same search on f1. It crashes? If yes, go to step 3. If not, do the same for f2. It crashes?
3. Take the folder on which it crashes. Split it in two. Let's say that it is f1. Make two subfolders: f11 and f12. Put in first 1000 files and in f12 the other 1000 files.
4. Repeat the search on f11. It crashes? If not, same operation on f12. It crashes?
... and so on. Go and (binary) split the folders till you find the offending file(s) and report back.

Yeah I finally understand what you want to ask and just tried all possible situations.
The result is the error occurs only if I use the aspect ratio condition to search.
