IPTC-search not stopable

If I search for IPTC entries in long file lists (more than 1000 pictures), the search function is not interruptable with Stop.
Confirmed. Xnview IPTC search uses alot of cpu, and 'stop' button does not seem to work.
Perhaps this is same problem:
Placing Xnview in 'low priority' class does not seem to help with high cpu usage reported above. If you leave Xnview to use another program and then return to Xnview session, nothing is displayed until search is finished.
