I am using the 'normal' XnView version and am considering to install XnView MP.
Have downloaded the files.

- Do I need to uninstall XnView ?
- will MP 'detect/adopt' the 'normal' XnView settings?

But above all, I donot wish to offend anybody in whatever way, but .. am just wondering,
why are all those enhancements not included in the standard XnView?
(i.e. why two products?)

Thanks!

No

No. And more - the settings set are different. Yes, there is a common trunk but they are different.

XnViewMP is cross-platform and AFAIK (Pierre, please confirm) has a better internal architecture.

Any program, during its life cycle accumulates some design/implementation decisions which - as time passes by - became more or less harmful for the future of the program. That's why Pierre decided to make a new code-base using (among other things) a new GUI library (Qt) which is better in some areas than the small subset of the standard Windows library used in XnView.

Thank you!

With some shame I have to confess that I thought that XnView MP (considering the version nbr) was some kind of 'add-on' to XnView created by a dedicated XnView user. Ahum...
Also because having two different products (the 'standard' and 'MP' version), well, frankly, I did not assume they were being developed by the same person(s).

Anyway, thanks again, I'll install XnView MP.
