What do I need to do to be able to see a preview of all the files in a folder. Please see my attached image. I know I have seen this done before but I cannot remember of find the option to preview the small previews. Thank you.

There are various things that might result in displaying the icons instead of the image thumbnail in the browser. Are your files .eps files?

First thing to check is the setting for the browser view:
"View > View As > " menu must be set to "Thumbnails", "Thumbnails & Labels", or "Thumbnails & Details".

Second thing to check is the settings for the file list:
In menu "Tools > Options" | category "Browser > File List" check the checkboxes in the column "Show as thumbnails". Please be aware that the generation of thumbnails for vector graphic files like EPS, AI, or similar requires Ghostscript and the generation of the thumbnails can take a while. Each vector file is loaded, converted by Ghostscript, then reduced in size and finally displayed as thumbnail. XnView will cache the thumbnails, so only browsing the folder the first time will be slow; browsing the same folder for a second time will be much faster.

Thank you for the info, I have made some changes and now I'm able to see the larger preview along with the preview of the other files as well. These are EPS file by the way. Thanks again!

For displaying the embedded previews of EPS (and other PostScript) files, XnView's browser doesn't rely on GhostScript. Just make sure to activate the checkbox(es) for AI, PS, PDF files in Tools » Options... » Browser » File List.

Yes, XnView can read these thumbnails. But remember: Not all AI, EPS or CDR files have previews embedded in them. It depends on the program they were saved with/exported from and on the settings made by the file's author.

Other than with EXIF thumbnails in JPEGs, embedded previews in AIs are located at the end (after %%EOF) of the file and are either in TIFF (PC) or PICT (Mac) format.
