Halo, XnViewMP Users.

XnViewMP 0.61

Menu > Tools > Settings > View > Tab: View > High zoom quality
The options are:
Never;
Reduce;
Enlarge;
Reduce & Enlarge.


Do you think it would be easier for most users to understand this setting if the options were:
Never;
Zoom-out;
Zoom-in;
Zoom-out & Zoom-in.

NB: The terms Reduce and Enlarge are also used in XnView classisc.

IMHO it is of little importance. However since it speaks about "High ZOOM quality" perhaps the Zoom variant is better...

I agree with you that it is a small issue. Whether the terms will be changed or not, it does not matter to me at this stage since I already see what they mean.
However, if I really like an application and I see a potential issue (no matter how small it is), I hope the next/new users will not face it as I did.
Experienced users tend to ignore small issues since they are already familiar with those issues. Small issues here and there might make the application complicated for the new users.
