JPEG-XR format support

Hello,
First and foremost, I'm a big long time fan of XnView and family of tools. So thank you very much!
I'm experimenting with JPEG-XR format using Microsoft's JxrEncApp / JxrDecApp, which are compatible with Windows (icons and IE). However, it appears that when I encode a jxr file with anything other than 24bppRGB, XnView cannot recognize the file. While windows shows the correct icon, and IE can open the jxr image just fine. Unfortunately, most of my source images that I'm experimenting with are 24bppBGR bmp files.
Any chance of making XnView and family compatible with the various JPEG-XR format options?
