2.04: Stripes in printouts

Hello:

I think this started when I installed XnView 2.04, and it is the same with 2.05.

When I print color images with XnView, I get light blue or green parallel, even-width stripes in the pictures.

In a picture that is 10 cm wide and 7.5 cm high, I get about 18 vertical strips, each about 4 mm wide. If I print a picture from the browser (Firefox), there are no stripes. A printout of a XnView-striped image with MS Photo Editor produces NO stripes.

I tried to attach a picture, but attachments can only be 256 KB, so I gave up.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks,

Hans L

Do you have a PDF printer installed? If yes, could you please try printing to the PDF printer and see whether the problem persists?

Don't know what is wrong, but when I print to Adobe PDF, I get a window called "Printing", with the text Printing on Printer Spooling...", and nothing happens. When I click the X (close window), the windowws dims and the namechanges to "Printing... (Not Responding), and the regular Print window also dims. When Iclick the same X again, I get the error message "XnView for Windows is not responding".

Thanks for trying, Hans. I doubt that the PDF problem is related to your stripes problem. Please send a sample picture to Pierre, the author of XnView (see Pierre's post above).

You're welcome. Thanks for sending out a sample image. Let's see whether Pierre can find the reason for the stripes problem.

I got a message today saying there was a response since I last looked, but I can see no response since Oct 24, 2013.

In any event, Canon came back to me, saying it was a repair problem, and shortly thereafter, I started getting error messages, and then, the printer died. It is dead, deceased, breathless, cold, , defunct, demised, departed, fallen, gone, late, lifeless, has bitten the dust! I was offered a deal for a new printer, but when I looked at reviews, Canon was not among printers recommended. So, I think I pass on that deal and go for something else this time (I have had Canons for a long time).

Thank you for your input and support!
