XnView Software

Hi there,

I have browsed through the forums a bit, but haven't found any mentions of my particular problem. Maybe someone can help.
Sometimes I am unable to save my documents in other applications while Xnview is open. For instance I work in Photoshop and I try to save my current file to my current project folder. If Xnview is currently looking at the same folder (which is usually the case for me) it sometimes won't allow me to save my document. Photoshop or whatever program I am using will throw an error and I have to go back to Xnview and browse to a different folder before I can try to save again.
I am not sure what Xnview is doing that prevents me from saving my documents. I know Xnview Classic doesn't have that issue.
Does anybody know if there is anything I can do?

It's a known issue. No solution so far.

AhaaaAA!!! We're getting closer... (I didn't knew about this (old) issue till now).

Most most most most probably is yet another facet of a nasty bug which is generated most most most probably by a lock put or... perhaps... LEFT???... on the current folder / files by XnView after 'something'. In my case is Move:

(Also, other reports talk about Delete)

Can you confirm that your problem appears after an On-disk operation eg. Copy/Move/Delete?
What else did you in XnViewMP before this problem?

Well, I usually just have Xnview open with the current project folder that I am working on, so I can see all my reference images and WIPs of whatever drawing I am currently working on in Photoshop. Sometimes I open up reference files in Xnview, I usually have a shortcut to send the image right to Photoshop.
This problem doesn't occur every single time I try to save a photoshop file, but it will almost always happen at least once while I work. Once it starts happening, I need to switch folders in Xnview every time before I can save my file. I usually save every 10 minutes or so and I will often save incrementally, meaning I create a new file for each save (of course sometimes I forget and just hit ctrl+S without even realizing it).
Since it pretty much always happens at some point while I work I have gone back to the classic Xnview suite where this problem simply doesn't exist.

As soon as you change the current folder in XnViewMP, no problem to save?
could you try to add exclusion for .tmp extensions in settings>Filelist?
