I find this feature very useful. This is one feature that xnview lacks which irfanview has forcing me to use both software. I would very much like xnview to implement this feature so I can forget irfanview totally :? . Now I have to click on slideshow button and click "go" on the dialog window, and then have to close the dialog window after the end of slideshow. Too many steps when one click could do it without the intervention of dialog window(using default settings in the slideshow dialog window). I am using version 2.13.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip. It worked. But In the FAQ it says:

Quick Slide Show - Pause, (Space)

Which did not work for me. Pause button in my laptop didn't do anything. And its confusing
the way its written, seems like its either Pause or Space, or,.. (What does the "()" signify
around Space), Pause, followed by space?. No mention of "Enter" in the Faq.
Anyway I think the FAQ should be changed to
your clear steps 1,2,3. Thanks

Maybe Pause (||) refers in this context to the multimedia buttons on some keyboards.

I forgot to mention that you can customize (to a certain degree) the function of the spacebar:

Tools » Options... » Keyboard/Mouse » Keyboard/Mouse » Keyboard » Space » Go to next picture vs. Start/Stop Quick Slideshow

Well, I do have a button labelled "pause" in my HP dm4-1165us laptop keyboard, but as I said it didn't do anything. The trick you suggested although works but still needs two keystrokes (Enter,Space). So my suggestions for future improvement still stands. I would like to see a "quickslideshow" button in browser mode clicking which will start a slide show with selected thumbnails. I would much prefer a button in the toolbar than keyboard hotkeys. Basically I want the "quickslideshow" button in the view mode be also present in the browser mode except in browser mode it will play a slideshow of "selected" thumbnails. Optionally the quickslideshow button can have a dropdown menu to start a slide show of all the thumbnails in case no thumbnail is selected. It will be a far better user interface in my view. Thanks.

Tools » Options... » Toolbar » Buttons
  • cmd_SlideShow can be added to the Basic, View, and Browser toolbar.
cmd_QuickSlideShow is only availbale for View mode.

I know that. But I am in view mode. I drag and dropped the files on Xnview in view mode. But when I clicked on the quickslideshow button the quickslideshow does not include the first three files (File1-3). That was the point I am trying so hard to communicate. Is that the intended functionality?. I think the quickslideshow should include Files1-3 also, since I selcted them also. Thanks
