XnView Software

Steps:

0. Close the XnView MP (if is running)
1. Open the XnView MP
2. Go to a folder with some photos and select one from the middle (the 5th).
3. Press F11 to enter in Full Screen mode (if you want you can click inside to "focus" it)
4. Press Left or Right Arrow in order to move to next / previous photo

Expected:

The program should move to next / previous photo

Actual:

Nothing happens


Notes:

If the user is smart enough to move the mouse in the upper part of the screen to show the floating strip of thumbnails, the arrow keys start to "work".

No.

And even if I would change it, isn't normal to 'enable' it by showing the floating strip of thumbnails (see the "Notes" in my prev post)

Not working if you change it??
When you open the strip, focus is on strip so arrow keys work on it

Pffff... it works. And then... ...the default setting for what is supposed to be?

the problem is that some users want arrows to scroll in picture. A single checkbox 'Use arrows to scroll in view' is better??

Thought a lot about this.

Some things:

1. In the Preview window the Left & Right arrows are always used for scrolling no matter what is the setting in Settings>Interface>Keyboard. I consider this a bug.

2. The solution for this would be a new option called 'Automatic' in Settings>Interface>Keyboard for the Left/Right which would be the default.

If the 'Automatic' is selected then if the (zoomed/shrunk) image width is smaller than view's width (IOW the left/right arrows cannot be used for scrolling) then it will work as next/prev image. If the (zoomed/shrunk) image width is bigger than view's width then it will work as scroll left/right.

So keep the current settings, and add 'automatic'?

Yep.

You have in Interface > Keyboard:

"Left/Right:" with the following options "Previous/next file" and "Scroll left/right". Add here the 'Automatic' option and make it default (for a new installation)

this is not working.

I've set automatic to both, but it is not working.

"Automatic" works fine for me in v0.84.
