In "view" or "full screen" mode the "properties" popup box can be opened using right-click context menu. - the "categories" sub-tab in this is alterable, but changes made are not saved.

In v0.84, the user can no longer make changes to the dialog. But question is why this dialog cannot be used for editing the categories. See discussion in 0.79: No changing categories in properties dialog in Viewer.
