Is it possible to pause gif animation, without restarting the animation from the beginning as you resume it?

It's nice to be able to pause, but I would love to continue then pause again on the upcoming frame, rather than having to start from the beginning.

It only pauses, then resets. This is a major feature for me, this would become the ultimate image viewer if I can get this straight.

That would be great! How easy is it to implement, and when can I expect to get the newer update?

I've tried an image viewer once before (Maybe it was this one, not sure), that also reset from the start when resuming the animation. So I hope that this is something that can actually be done.
