Show IPTC and EXIF information in browser detail list

Post by jens116 »

It would be nice to have the option to show some essential IPTC and EXIF information in the browser detail list - and also in the status bar of the view window.

I support this. Having EXIF informations at all in the image viewer is one of the causes for my move away from ACDSee 32.
But having EXIF available at one glance while browsing the images would be even better.

The perfect way would be either a new subwindow/dockable window containing the EXIF informations with ability to chose which to display. Or as an alternative, having the current Properties window non modale to be able having it open while browsing the images.

Soon you'll have a tab with EXIF/IPTC values with the preview, so perhaps no needed.

I am looking forward very much to this feature. Maybe adding such info into View - Show information ('I' hotkey) when viewing image would be most useful too, but can wait what will the support look like and then we can discuss ... ;-)

You can do it - go to Options > View > Fullscreen and press [Insert>>] button. :)

- Seriously : friends and I here can help you, I've begun already a text-file for EXIF, but I don't know how it's processed in the program. In the principle, it could be something like :
[Group #1]=0
0=""
1="Camera Manufacturer : %maker%"
2="Camera Model : %model%"
3="Orientation : %orient% (%n)
4="X Resolution : %n"
5="Y Resolution : %n"
6="Resolution unit: %unit%
7="Software: %version%"
8="Date modified: %d %t"
9="YCbCr Positioning : %ycbcr_pos% (%n)"
10="Exif offset: %n"
[Group #2]=0
… and so on up to #80 actually…
[Variables Translations]=0
100="Normal"
101="Auto"
102="Inch"
… etc.
- What do you think ?

Better will be :
[Group #1]=0
0=""
1="Camera Manufacturer"
...
