Halo.

Xubuntu 14.04
XnViewMP 068

Is it possible to implement overlay scrollbar on XnViewMP for Linux ?

Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't understand exactly what you mean. Can you be more explicit? What is your HUMAN problem/need which you want to solve?

Launchpad (Ayatana Scrollbars for Qt) wrote:Ayatana Scrollbars use an overlay to ensure that scrollbars take up no active screen real-estate. A thumb appears magically when the pointer is in proximity to the scrollbar, for easy desktop-style paging and dragging.

This is the Qt implementation of Ayatana Scrollbar: http://launchpad.net/ayatana-scrollbar

Thanks, m.Th and XnTriq.

I see that some applications on ubuntu (and its flavours) do not support the overlay scrollbar.
That's why I want to know if it is possible for XnViewMP to support it.

[What is your HUMAN problem/need which you want to solve?]
I think it has been answered by the links provided by XnTriq. I mean, by knowing the differences of appearance and behaviour of the two scrollbars, we can conclude why many ubuntu users like overlay scrollbar.

So, is it possible (and feasible) ?

Thanks

I don't think so. Unfortunately. I love the idea. I was many years a Ubuntu user.

However, Pierre is tied to his GUI crossplatform library (Qt) which is a very nice one but doesn't provide such thing. Of course, if the library (will) provide this or there is an already made widget for this, I would like to have it, but not to take from the Pierre's programming time because we have much more essential things to implement.
