How to delete text box

Hello:

I have tried and read, but cannot figure out how to delete a text box. In this particular case, I have two text boxes in a .jpg file, and I want to get rid of one. Highlighting it and clicking "Delete" creates a blackened box.

Grateful for help.

The only way to delete a text box on an image is to replace it with something else...

The easiest way is probably to identify an area of the image that has the most suitable colour or pattern, make a selection -- even a very small area will do -- and then copy and paste that colour or pattern on to the area to be edited.

If that doesn't produce an acceptable repair, the only option would probably be to use an image editing program that provides more sophisticated tools, such as a 'healing brush'.

That's a bummer! Thank you nevertheless. And sorry that I posted in the wrong forum ("General Info").

I hope one of these tools fits your needs, Hans!

This is what XnView can do for you:

U +I have a few questions:

- Why do I have to download removedate01.jpg. I have my own problem file :-(
- I guess I press OK after each of the "Go to" above, but not "Apply to image"?
- The above does nothing but reducing the brightness in my file.
- What am I missing?
- Thanks!

Because I was assuming that your problem file is of personal nature (and you'd rather not upload it to the forum), I used a random example to demonstrate what's possible with XnView's filters — and where the limits are.
Needless to say, my method of “repairing” removedate01.jpg is not universally applicable. Removing objects from photos is beyond the scope of a “multi-format graphics viewer with batch conversion and image processing capabilities” such as XnView. That's what image editors are for.

Did you try some of the dedicated utilities I recommended?
