I am using XnView MP version 0.53 now, because of it's status bar, it shows full file name. While recent versions reduce it to some predefined length and show ... instead of full name. It will looks like 7484754...9ba2_o.jpg , for example.
Question is:
was it hardcoded and cannot be changed anywhere in settings? Or there is some way to make file names display as it was before?

I am fine with XnView 0.53, almost, it just has annoying memory leaks, eating up to 4 Gb RAM with any image (rare though, after ~24 hours of work)

Yes, it seems that it is hard-coded to a max value. Usually in these cases when we have just a single item with large variance in length we'll put it the last one and leave it to take all the available space of the status bar. This is a hint for Pierre.

You can use the image tooltip (hover the mouse over the image to see it, if you didn't disable it) in order to display the full file name together with other configurable information.

I downloaded fresh version, even deleted old .ini file to be sure.
Nothing changed by default. Didn't find option in program interface.

So I edited manually settings file

I added in [Viewer] section this line:
maxCharsFilename=999

OK, now it shows full file name length in Browser mode, but still reduce file name in Viewer mode.
Adding same line into [Browser] section does not change anything.

How should I make it all the same in Viewer and Browser mode? How should I force it to show full file name? What did I do wrong here?

I am really sorry for bothering you, but file name is still being cut in the Viewer mode in v. 0.76

Not only is the name cut but now all the info fields disappeared, I get only position, filename and mouse coordinates.

In XnView 0.84 filename is still truncated in statusbar of Viewer (maxCharsFilename=999 in section [Viewer] is set).

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.85 beta 1. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

It works... ...however upon entering in the folder the 1st file is selected but the status bar isn't updated with the details of the 1st file.
