SlideShow feature: show every Xth file

hi all,
every graphic-viewer has this slideshow function, and all of them can play the pictures forward, backward or ramdon.
nothing wrong with that, but sometimes the user needs some more configurable slideshow feature.
i am missing a feature wich slides trough all the pictures in the folder, but does not show each of them, but each X one. (where X is a user-customizable value of course.)
an example on how this could be useful:
a user has a folder with 500 pictures.
lets say, all of these picture are from a botanik-garden, so there a 500 pictues of plants and flowers and stuff. sometimes the user did fotos of a flower twice or even more times from different views, etc. some pictures of a plant or flower are with a lensfilter or without. etc....
seeing *all* those pictues again can be quite boring (even if the user made the pics by her/himself)
so the user could choose: hey xnview, play a slideshow for me but show only every 3rd picture of the folder.
and ideas or suggestion?
loth
