More than one instance of the program open

Hi, I used to work with ACDsee but I moved to XNView when I switched to Mac.
I really like the program but I cant find the way of solving this issue.
I browse many images for my job, and sometimes I need to have more than one instance of the program open.
Tabs for images doesnt solve my needs, as I need to have more than one browser with thumbnails to browse at the same time.
Is there any possibility to do that?
thanks a lot!

For XnViewMP on Mac, do you have this option-item to uncheck?
Menu > Tools > Settings > General > General tab > "One instance of program only"
.

On Windows7, when xnviewmp is active, I can right-click its bar on Windows "Task Bar" and click "XnViewMP". The second instance will be active opening my default folder.
OR
In the first instance of xnviewmp, I can right-click an image (view mode) and/or a thumbnail/file name (browse mode) and select the context-menu item: "Open with" > "Associated program" (F3)

In Windows the procedure is simply to open the program [a second time] in the normal way, such as by clicking on the program icon on the Task bar, so presumably there is a Mac equivalent for that?
If that doesn't work, maybe a Mac user can help?

No response yet...
But Google is truely one of the wonders of the modern world, and a search 'open second instance of program mac' provides many results that look relevant, for instance:
How to open multiple instances of an application in OS X
How to Open Two Instances of an Application in OS X
Hopefully one of them will enable you to open two instances of XnViewMP.

This is how to open multiple instances of XnViewMp on Mac. From a Terminal command line:
open -n /Applications/XnViewMP.app/
