thumbnail of a jpg file format

Hi
I-m new here;
love XNView (windows)

Not an expert, maybe an easy question

I have several jpg files on the windows desktop
The all show the xnview icon

I would like to change to a thumbnail of the actual file picture

any ideas ??

That is a Windows' setting but I can't immediately tell you were to find it, and the location and even whether the option is available on your system may depend on the version of Windows you are using.

Google is excellent for computing topics: if you search including your Windows version you may find the answer easily...

Update:

In Windows 7:

o Open a folder (the Desktop is technically a folder but I don't see the required setting there);

o On the folder menu select Organise > Folder and search options > Files and Folders

If the folder Menu isn't displayed you may need to Google to find out to display it;

o Then View tab > Advanced settings: Then uncheck Always show icons, never thumnails

In my quick test that changed an image icon in the folder to a thumbnail, which remained as a thumbnail when copied to the desktop, so hopefully desktop image files will also be displayed as thumbnails.

For other versions of Windows Google if you are unable to locate an equivalent setting.
