Large Icon setting not working.

Under Settings, Interface, Toolbar there is a check box for Large Icons. It does not seem to work. I first check the Large Icon box then click on the OK button, the settings box closes and a Information dialog box opens asking me to restart XnView MP. When I do this the setting has not "stuck", it reverts back to it's unchecked condition. Is there a special way that I have to restart XnView MP?
I am running the 0.79 64 bit version under Windows 10.

You might check if the large icons setting has been registered in the xnview.ini file:

Tools > Settings... Integration > Paths -- XnView settings -- Open Config files Location

Then open xnview.ini in a text editor and see if this entry is present:

Code: Select all

toolbarIcons=Toolbar-48
No problem on Windows 7 64-bit SP1 provided the original XnView MP is closed before restarting...

If the setting hasn't been registered, you could possibly try an alternative xnview.ini location.

Thanks for responding.

I followed your directions and the "toolbarIcons=Toolbar-48" entry is in the ini file in the "Start" section.
The ini file is located in the "User (System)" location. I don't know if that makes any difference.

And if you close XnView MP and then restart it you still have the small icons??

I don't know if there are any known issues with large icons in Windows 10, you could search the forum if you haven't done so...

Yes, after a restart of XnView I still have the small icons. I did search the forum but did not find any relevant posts. It could be that my search string is not very good, I will try again.

thanks

Sorry for the delay in replying but I was very busy during the last few days.

The answer to your question is, no, I do not see a toolbar.ini file in the UI folder.
