Very easy - I suggest configurable F4 (and maybe also F3) key(s).

"Open With" is nice, but not as fast as F4, but F4 doesn't work on mp3 or avi files now...

There should be a list where user can add extensions and program to open file with these ext. (same as in file managers), e.g.:

*.bmp;*.gif;*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.png ===> "<path>PhotoFiltre.exe" **

*.mp3;*.mpa;*.mp2 ===> "<path>mp3DirectCut.exe" **

<others> ===> with default program

** - here could be also a "button" with all programs from "Open With" list

Or solution #2:

<image files> ===> <same as above>

<audio files> ===> <same as above>

...

Do I understand right: There is F3 and F4 to open the file with the associated program. Do you want a separate "association" list in XnView? I don't like that idea.

Rather than having Windows file associations and a seperate "association" list in XnView, people could use the "Open" and "Edit" associations. "Open" could open in XnView, "Edit" could open in the associated program (in your case: PhotoFiltre, mp3DirectCut).

I want to improve "F4" / "F3".

Now, F4 key is useless for several file types and F3 key will be completely useless when this option will be implemented.
